This Asian-inspired bread knife features PakkaWood® handle that resists moisture and won't harbor bacteria. The double-bevel, flat-ground blade can be hand-sharpened to a razor sharp 16° cutting angle each side. The bread knife also has a VG-MAX cutting core that takes an incredible edge and holds it longer. The stainless Damascus cladding has 34 micro-layers of steel each side (68 total) to support the core, add stain resistance and help food release from the blade. Plus, the bread knife has a full composite tang for superior strength and balance.
This honing steel is the easiest way to keep your Shun Classic knives sharp in between daily use. The tool features a beautiful PakkaWood® handle that is durable and won't harbor bacteria. Use the honing steel on a regular basis to maintain your knife's blade. Simply place it tip down on a sturdy surface, line up the blade with the hand guard and gently pull the blade starting from the heel to the tip repeating 3 or 4 times alternating sides.
